Strategy

Does your technology engage your customers?  Can IT respond quickly to new business demands and is IT scalable? Is demand prioritized correctly to support the business strategy?  Are you spending the right amount on maintenance versus value added projects?  Can emerging technologies replace high cost services or people today?  Can a shared IT organization and infrastructure provide lower cost and higher value?

Risk

Is the risk with IT understood and managed?  What risks do you have with primary vendors?  Are you compliant with regulatory policy and customer requirements (i.e. Sarbox, PCI, SAS 70)?  Is your data safe?  Is your disaster recovery plan comprehensive and tested?

Leadership

Is there a need for interim senior leadership to mature the IT organization?  What can be done to improve performance?  Are metrics for IT in place for service levels, human resources, and department finance?  Is IT ready for company growth or a change in financial structure?

Due Diligence

Is experienced leadership or project teams needed for due diligence, acquisition integration or critical projects?     Is the status of projects communicated?  Are projects meeting the planned schedules? Are the real requirements defined?  Is ownership defined?

Business Processes

Is value being lost in inefficient business processes or organizational friction?  How many people use Excel to provide core reporting?  Are processes simple and documented?  Are multiple departments performing the same function?
